Friday afternoon the highly anticipated shipment of Cabrinha paddleboards arrived and practically stopped traffic in it’s wake.  The freight truck had to shut down traffic in the far right lane in order to unload the 10 stand up paddleboards into our shop.  Pete Cabrinha is a legend in the big wave surfing world with the likes of Laird Hamilton and he brings his expertise to the paddleboard industry now.

We’ll have some of these decks available for demo and rental.  For a Seattle paddleboard rental the costs are….

$25-4 hour rental with paddle

$50 for a full 24 hour period with paddle.

Cabrinha makes three different SUPs ranging from 9’8″ to 11’6″ but we’re fully stocked on the 11’6″s which will be perfect for people just getting started in the sport.  It will provide a nice wide platform making balancing a breeze.  This board is specifically designed for the flat-water touring that Lake Washington is suited for.  However, you can totally take it into small waves and have a blast. Because this board is nice and stable, it’s great for touring long distances where you want to bring along a small cooler or any gear.  If you’re looking for something to get you over to Jetty Island and cross the channel safely with all your kiting equipment on board, this would be a winner.
With the mast track, you can even attach a windsurfing mast base when the wind picks up a bit.  You can also use that track as a carrier.  For a more detailed look at these stand up paddle boards, check out Cabrinha’s new surf website.

At $1279 for the Cabrinha 11’6″ Touring paddleboard, they’re also a great value.
